How lucky did we get with this perfect weather for Lauren and Devon’s engagement session at Bodega Bay. As much as I love photographing the beautiful vineyards that Sonoma County has to offer, it was such a nice change of scenery to document their love story at Bodega Bay. When the couple initially told me they wanted to have their engagement session at the beach, I was a little concerned as our beaches can be such a toss up with the weather, especially the fog and wind. But once they told me how much they loved the beach and it was sentimental to them, I knew we had to move forward with it and I’m so glad we did!
Typically it’s the bride that contacts me to inquire about engagement sessions and/or wedding photography but I love that Devon took the initiative to reach out. I had shot a family friend of his and he had seen my work and felt I would be a good fit for their needs. Lauren is a full-time nurse and works nights, so as expected, she doesn’t have the time during the day to make these types of consults. What a great start to their marriage to support one another in areas the other needs help with and in this case it was finding a photographer.
Lauren and Devon arrived with Devon’s mom and sister who loved watching the session and it was a real treat for me to see how close the families were it was like Lauren was already their family. I cant wait to document their wedding day later this year.
