Petaluma Engagement Session

Documenting Alexa and Joe’s Petaluma engagement session was very special to me. Ive known Alexa since she was a junior in high school, I documented her senior photos. That was actually how I first met her was her hiring me to photography her senior portraits. Ive watched her grow through out the years become a very successful insurance agent with her own office. Then buying her first multi unit property in Sonoma County and now to meeting her forever partner, Joe.As you can imagine when she asked me to document such a big milestone as her wedding day I was beyond honored.

With their wedding in early summer they wanted an engagement session immediately. With the weather in late November it can be real tricky to schedule an outdoor portrait session with the rain. Luckily the day of their session the sun was out and lighting was perfect. We hiked up to the top of a mountain in Petaluma and I couldn’t believe there was only slight wind and zero fog. Typically Petaluma is known for fog and wind.

Alexa and Joe chose two outfits, one more casual and one more dressed up. This is very typical for my most of my engagement sessions. Alexa said she wanted images with some mood to them and I made sure to deliver. It was important for me to showcase their easy going relationship and personalities as well as their love.

Alexa and Joe are getting married at a nearby golf course next year and I cant wait to document their love!
