Spring time in Sonoma County is my favorite time to document family maternity portraits. The grass is lush and green, wild flowers popping up all around us and the sunsets are just unreal. While many Sonoma photographers like documenting family portraits in the fall Iam a big fan of the spring time. I urge all my clients to document their milestones early on in the year when the grass is still green.
We were lucky enough to document their maternity portrait session in Petaluma on their families property. Surrounded my dairy cows and a full bulls I took full advantage of the photographers dream and put us right in the middle of the field (safely of course). Little Georgia was so confident around the cows and had no fear she was clearly a pro. This hundred acres of golden light and beautiful fields was truly a photographers dream.
We started their session on lower level to let the light fall a bit and then walked around their pond. Then we drove up to the top of the hill to enjoy the motion of the wind and sunset. Petaluma is known for the fog rolling in but this night was a perfect mixture of golden hour and fog. The portraits turned out perfect and I made sure to send them ASAP to momma as baby boy will be here within the week. Its always important to me to get the images back to my maternity clients ASAP so they have time to enjoy the gallery before the baby comes.
