As a Santa Rosa baby photographer one of my favorite subjects to document is cake smashes. Something about a baby not quite walking and overjoyed with this little cake and its frosting. Their eyes light up and it’s the sweetest thing ever to document. Cake smashes in the studio always include the cake smash itself, simple portraits in a neutral outfit then cute bathtub photos.

This is my second time photographing sweet Kira. She was only a few weeks old when I documented her newborn session and its crazy how fast time flies. I also photographed her brother Kai when he was about 6 months old with his beautiful momma Katrina. Now Katrina will have beautiful simple portraits of both kids to proudly hang on her wall.

Kira wore a simple romper that tied in the back that her Mom purchased from amazon. She paired the natural tone romper with a yellow bow for a pop of color. The bow color complimented the floral colors Mom had put on the bottom of the cake. The cake was actually made by Moms sister in law! She purchased the cake topper from Etsy and will use it on her actual first birthday party!
