Ru’s Farm wedding
This beautiful summer Ru’s Farm wedding was perfect for Carol and Kevin, their family and friends. Ru’s Farm is one of my favorite Sonoma County wedding venues. It combines both rustic barn features as well as the iconic views of the vineyards. The ceremony spot consists of a 100 year old oak tree that provides the best light for the couples ceremony portraits. The property is surrounded with stunning landscape of florals and olive trees. Mouths dropped from guests walking around this property.
After documenting Carol and Kevins engagement session in San Francisco I knew these two truly valued their relationships with family and friends. I wanted to make sure those relationships were documented through out the day. As I look back at all 900 images of their wedding day that is the number one feeling that comes to mind, relationships. So many joy filled images of not just only the couple but of their closest people.
During the wedding vows under the iconic oak tree at Ru’s Farm, Kevin’s tears fell as he expressed his heart and commitment to Carol. I don’t think there was a dry eye nearby and one of my favorite images of the day was Kevins Mom looking up at her son with pride and support. As a mother myself to a little boy I can only imagine what that moment and milestone feels like. Its an honor to document these moments.
Even though Kevin and Carol did not share a first look, we still managed to complete their formal portraits early and the two were able to attend cocktail hour. They enjoyed delicious appetizers by Out To Lunch Catering, fresh oysters by Hog island Oyster Company and wines by Ru’s Farm. They were able to be present and talk to all their guests which makes me so happy.
After the delicious dinner and heartfelt toasts they had their first dance inside the barn. The party followed and thats when Kevin’s dreams came true. The band, The Freshmaker’s invited him to get up on the stage and play his guitar. Day freaking made for Kevin!
